It’s not everyday I end up on the podium of a triathlon race. Crazy! 123 males finished and just one of them was faster than me over a 500 m swim, 20 km bike, and 5 km run. Kudos to Tristan, who is 20 years younger.

Also great to share the podium with my buddy Mathias, 3rd place overall, whom I beat by just 20 seconds with a faster run, in fact the fastest run out of everyone here today. Not ashamed to be proud of it 🥈!

Regarding my DNF at North Downs Way 100. First, thanks for all the kind messages 🙏 — I quit after 116 of 167 kilometers; 16:30h of running, just before midnight. It was a ‘Death by a 1,000 paper cuts’ situation. Nothing majorly went wrong, but many small things added up: both big toes destroyed from hitting them on too many rocks, lost my headlamp, backup lamp battery too low, too exhausted to even walk in a straight line anymore. I’m quite sad, because it means no Western States lottery for me this year and I feel the need to figure out how to move on regarding trail ultras. Time will tell! #ultrarunning

Drove to London Heathrow from home (Hamburg) today. Odd. Sub-8 hours for the continental leg, followed by LeShuttle and another 1:45h on narrow roads thinking about Harry Potter. Gotta love England. #roadtrip

Currently I’m fully immersed into furthering my various self-hosted web projects using ChatGPT/Codex. It is just suddenly working so brilliantly! I don’t even feel like I need to review the code anymore. It’s the like the future I’ve always imagined.
My favorite project, which is my own Quantified Self dashboard, is now making so much more sense — I have been collecting data for it for over four years now, expecting AI to be able to make use of it at one point in the future, and now it does. It’s just so satisfying. 😊 #coding #ai

Traveling on an overnight train from Hamburg to Stockholm with my oldest. These lie-flat beds have a first class vibe to them. Quite relaxing. We actually slept well during this 14-hour ride. I think it’s because of the continuous slight shaking of the train. #vacation
